Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on November 18th, 1985. She was born in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was able to show an early interest in sports as she was in high school at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting talents at the moment. After only 10 weeks after her first race, Felix placed second in the 200-meter event during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003, Felix finished high school by signing a contract as a professional athlete with the company that makes sports Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic medal in 2004 at the Summer Olympics that took place at Athens Greece. She broke an unofficial Junior World Record doing 200 m in 22.18 seconds. As of 2005, she became the youngest world champion of 200 meters during the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007 by over her former Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She often finished within the top three places of the events.
